Light a Candle
Gilbert Samuel Baker of St. Clair Shores, MI passed away unexpectedly on November 13th, 2021, at the age of 68. He was born in Portland, Michigan on February 16th, 1953 to the late Peter and Marguerita (Neilsen) Baker. Gib had a great life; he loved the outdoors where he could hunt, fish and trap. Everyone knew when Gib was on his way fishing, because he would have a huge smile on his face. He taught all of his children how to fish. Gib loved spending his time off watching baseball, basketball, and football. He was also a skilled carpenter who helped build churches and homes. He gladly helped anyone who asked. He is survived by his siblings Karen Bruder, Sharon Baker, and Daniel Baker; his children Bryan Baker, Jennifer (Seth) Griffith, Corey Baker, and Maggie (Tyler) Barry; and his grandchildren Logan, Adaline, Jessica, Alivia and Mason, and many niece's and nephew's. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at the Conservation Club of Portland on December 4, 2021, 2-6pm.
